Summer happenings.....

This summer has been really busy despite our not scheduling things to do. The girls and I helped out with VBS at our church.

 We also tie-dyed small backpacks as a missions project to send to Latin America. It was fun, 160 dyed with the teen youth group.

We had alot of dye left over so anyone who brought a t-shirt could tie-dye. These are the one's I did in the dark for the girls. They turned out great, the best one's I ever dyed!!! 

 

My friend Pam and I went up to Stockton to Woodsedge Wools Farm for their fiber festival. This is the shop, The outside is huge and looks like a house.  The inside is beautiful to with lots of yummy alpaca items to buy.

The farm has 300 Alpaca's. This is the first time I have ever seen them, they are the cutest  animal and make the best yarn from their fleece.

 This is my friend Pam, she is the best knitter ever. She was making a really cool sweater, this is her favorite color.♥

The Girls went to see Harry Potter at the 12am showing. They really enjoyed it. Me not so much had to get them at 2:30 and we all had to be up and in Metuchen by 8am for VBS the next day... Somehow we did it but were really tired.

 The girls after the show, it was in 3D, they got these cute Harry Potter glasses. My mom bought them the shirts. they each like different houses....

We were lucky to be able to go to Brick, down the shore for the weekend. We stayed at our friends Sue and Beth's hose. They have a great deck and a nice big pool.  We also went to the Tom's river ice cream festival. It was a nice weekend.

 Chemo hats I made for RAJKpatterns hat drive. I sent 4 to Alabama today in the girls name in honor of Nana~Evelyn Procek who passed away from colon cancer. We hope this will bring peace and comfort to the recipient.

I have been into recycling t-shirts, these are some bracelets I made. Came out really cool. It's amazing how many things you can make from t-shirts. Anybody want to send or give me some please do so.

Finally in June we ran down to Maryland real quick and had some oral surgery done. Jeff had an infection, I am getting an implant and Victoria had 4 wisdom teeth removed. This is Lumbo our good friend who performed all the surgeries and Vic with her ice pack Christi his wife devised....

Happy 12th Birthday Aleksandra!!!♥♥♥♥

Today is Allie's 12th birthday, I can hardly believe it. Time is flying by so fast and my babies are not babies anymore. This is Allie this morning before going to school. She straightened her hair last night for an hour.
She had a great day at school. Her friends decorated her locker. Her BFF Samantha made a little cake and the girls at her lunch table sang Happy Birthday to her and the whole lunch room joined in. Allie was embarrassed but I think that was totally cool!

They also sang Happy Birthday to her in chorus. Her friends gave her a bouquet of candy, apparently this is the thing to do at LMS. Whatever!!! This is the hat the girls use to wear to school on their birthdays. I did however get her to put it on for the picture. Yea me...

Allie and her Costco cake. Don't you just love their cakes? So yummy and so reasonable. Hers was for a snack for youth group tonight for all the leaders and kids and has chocolate moose filling with a white cake. I have to tell you I hope they bring me a piece home!!! LOL.

Totally yummy cake. She would not let us put 12th birthday on there. She said that was dumb???

Silent Day

Yesterday October 20, 2009 was the 6th annual Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity ~ Where you ready? My daughters Victoria (almost 15) and Aleksandra 12 were. They took part in this day and remained silent all day, even while being persecuted by there peers. I am proud of them. They were well prepared this year. Allie had asked the Principal of her school if it was ok to participate days in advance and got the ok. Some how on the actual day, it seemed everyone in her school wanted to participate. They say it only takes one person to make a difference in the world. I am not sure how many felt the conviction Allie did but at least if nothing else she made people, including teachers aware. Victoria was armed with a red marker and red notebook to answer questions. She had a hard time in her school. She is in 9th grade and the kids in her school were acting like they were in 2nd grade. But she remained Strong and made it thru the day. Last year she was not so lucky, they broke her and it really hurt her.

59 babies were saved last year, that they know of. There were important reminders and rules to speak of that needed to be followed:

~Not everyone will be nice to you ~ you need to remain peaceful and loving no matter how nasty they get. This is hard to do.
~This is a day of prayer, remain focused on why we are doing this.

Happy monday!!!

This is Victoria's room. Yes it is 3 colors, lime green, fuchsia and purple. She loves it and it is so her..
This is her bed, she got a new bedspread set, this was great as it came all in a bag. Very sorta bohemian. hopefully now she will keep the room clean!!! Fingers crossed.

She has a great window seat area , where she can read or look out the window and daydream. I'm sure she does more of the daydreaming.

Sshe loves ladybugs, frogs and owls. She is also very neat and keeps her room looking great.

Her new bedspread, she got for her birthday. She could not wait to get it on her bed and mobile uploaded a picture to Face book yesterday. I'm glad she is excited.

This past weekend we went to my sister's house for my nice Nicolette's 17th birthday, holy cow where is the time going? She is driving... I took alot of pictures but gave the card to my mom, she wanted to get some developed. When I get it back I will post the fun and the cutest owl cake ever that my sister Donna made.

Allie's birthday is on the 28th of October. My baby will be 12 except it seem everyone thinks she is turning 13. Slow down, she is the youngest grandchild.. We got her a really cute owl comforter, sheets and pillow for her birthday. She has outgrown ladybugs? No way, she just wanted a change.

I am off I have an order from a friend who is a teacher at Faber for 5 black pairs of my famous wrist warmers. I already gave her one today and she just loved it. I am so glad. Have a great night. Stay warm, it's getting really cold here at night and I was reduced to putting my heat on over the weekend.

My obsession for the past few weeks... Knitted Fingerless Gloves!!!

These are also a set of 3 wash cloths I made for her to.... these are so soft and absorbent. Great for babies and adults to for that matter...

This is the baby blanket I made for Laurie, the teacher I work with. She is having another boy in May. Her school baby shower is this Friday....

This sock yarn is self striping, I just love the colors.

These gloves are really colorful and quite warm also...

These are cool to, they are made of multi colored sock yarn. I like these fo me... Yeah right. LOL

These bright pink fingerless gloves are relly cool, and very soft! I am going to list them in my etsy shop, if you want a pair let me know....

If you have seen me around lately or follow me on face book, you know I am OBSESSED with knitting fingerless gloves. I hav made several black ones, one pair even went to Florida. I have also made grey, pink, and two different multi-colored. They are fun fast and easy to make. Allie has "stolen" most for herself. She doesmodel them for me and with an attitude too. Right now I am almost done with another pair of hand spun yarn almond in color. The yarn came from Germany. they are so soft, guess who wants them too..what a hog, but a cute one. ~Peace Debbie

Gone way to long

I have been gone way to long... Life got in the way. So much has happened since I have written last. In August we went on a much anticipated family vacation to Disney World in Fla. and had a blast. Allie proved to be quite a daredevil, she wanted to go on the fastest rides and rollercoasters. She loved the Rockin Rollercoaster and the Aerosmith music. LOL I made everyone go on It's A Smallworld and everyone enjoyed it. The week went by far to fast. School started shortly afterward. Victoria is now in the 8th grade which I am totally blown away by. Next year she will be in HS. Where did the time go? And Allie is in 5th grade. She will be going over to the middle school next year. WE are back into the routine of school, homework and activities.

Just last Friday Allie had her tonsils and adnoids out. She did really well and is on the mend. Today she told me "Mommy i'm starving" so I made her noodles and she ate them!! WOOHOO She will be out of school the rest of this week. Am trying to sell my crochet and craft stuff on ETSY, check it out ~ www.yarnfreak.etsy.com. They have really cool handmade items. Today I have really been working on my shop. I added a few new items and updated pictures I hated and was generally busy all day. It's alot of work but fun too. I have met some of the nicest people that I consider good friends now. I want to add some pictures if I can figure out how to do it on this blog.... Stay tuned..... Peace ~ Debbie
