Art Fest 09 FBC Metuchen, NJ

Allie starting her painting, this is my last picture. Blogger is giving me a hard time uploading pictures and I have now become frustrated. Go to Facebook you will see them all, as it is so easy to upload.......

This is Victoria's painting, she ound time to do in between taking pictures!!

  • This is a picture of the cross we have been making for two years ~ since the Ladies Retreat in Ocean Grove. It's finally ready for grouting!!!! It is so beautiful the colors are wonderful♥
Today was art fest at First Baptist. It started at 11 and went to 3pm. We slept in late (it felt good) and got there before 1. The girls painted pictures, I got back on LIFT (Thanks again Mary Ann) and everyone had a great time. Go to my face book we uploaded 3 albums of pictures Victoria took. She did a good job. They still have to put moulding around the paintings/collages and grout the mosaics before they hang them all around the church. This will take awhile as there are a ton to do. It was a great idea. Children and parents were there as well as teens and the youth group leaders. I will post a few pictures here....

Well did not finish Vic's gloves yet, hopefully tomorrow as I will have alot of time on my hands since I am not going on the computer. In my last post I have made a vow not to use it on Sundays, but to havea dayof rest.

We did go to Metuchen on Thursday and documented all the info and there is no way I went thru a red light, now I just have to go and fight it this wednesday... wish me luck♥

Thats all for now need to do a few things like get the wash before I go to bed. Of course knitting to..

Some Things I have Learned and Knitting of Course!!!

I am eating corned beef as I am blogging, yummy... from yesterday. Jeff always likes to make it for St. Pat's Day. I lost another picture, I am getng frustrated and it's taking to long, after all I need to be knitting those Rocking Fingerless Gloves for Vic. I will attempt more tomorrow, maybe....

These would have been great to wear for St. Pat's yesterday. They are green and made from bamboo yarn and very soft...
Am totally in love with these!!!!! I just love the colorway........

Love these they using a double strand of sock yarn. They are not as bulky but just as warm and great for the spring.

I don't get this whole blog set up, I wanted this picture to go under the part I wrote about it and it ended up here? I anyone can explain please help. Now it will be out of order just like all my other posts. And I just lost the picture, will have to upload again. Please be patient....

I went on another Prayer Shawl Knitting Retreat this past weekend. I was so looking forward to it for weeks. The day finally came, but I had to run here there and everywhere before I was to meet the car pool in the chuch parking lot at 9:30 am. We were all in the car coming home from Allie's sleepover with Pioneer Girls when I got stopped by the Metuchen Police. Right Away I got upset, I have not had a ticket in years. I asked "Officer what did I do?" his reply was you went thru a red light. Now I know sometimes I am a ditz but I was like no I didn't. He said when the left lane arrow turned green you went and your light was red. Now no one in the car noticed this but I thought ok we were all enjoying our conversation and yes it could be, but it still bothered me. I was determined not to let this ruin my wonderful retreat. And it did not, I prayed about it and just let it go, after all there was noting I could do now. Coming home from another church event I saw at that same light that when the arrow was green so was the light for going straight. So tomorrow after work we are going back to the light with paper, pen and camera in hand to document the traffic light pattern. Hopefully it will be in my favor and I will go fight it in court. I will let you know.
At the retreat we learned that we should say no and not feel guilty, this is hard for me not so much the saying no but the feeling guilty part. That silence is a great thing. I am trying to lead a simpler life, some of it is due to the economy and that we have to use our money wisely but also it's a better way of life. I am not going to use the computer on Sundays at all, this is for me I did not miss it this past week. Hey it will be there the next day. We are also trying to reuse and recycle items, it's good for your pocket and the earth and even trendy. WOO HOO lets hear it for soda tab bracelets!!!!!

I have been knitting fingerless gloves like a mad women and still do not have a pair of knitted ones for myself. Vic wants hers to be 1 black one and 1 red one, her favorite colors. she wants them done by tomorrow, ok sure no problem. I think it will be longer than that since she jut told me today LOL.

Here are some pictures of gloves I finished and photographed today, I want to get them in my ETSY shop. Allie is my model with attitude. Enjoy, I did making them.

Home with a sick kid....

Here is Vic in her glasses, both girls choose black for some reason. They are both different and unique to each of the girls. Vic's has checkered arms and Allie has butterflies on her one arm and polka dots on the inside of the frame. Costco had a great selection and is reasonably priced. She turned 14 I can not even believe that, She is taller than me now... on February 14th. Seems like yesterday she was born. This is a picture of Vic and Leslie the Pastor's daughter and one of her youth group leaders. She took the jr. high youth group to the mall to celebrate Victoria's b-day. They had fun. Vic, leslie an Andrew were surprised with a birthday cake from Cold Stone Creamery Yummy!!!! It was a nice day filled with fellowship and memories.

Here are two new items I listed in my etsy shop today, set of 7 heart face scrubbies 4 multi color red and 3 solid white. And for St. Pat's since everyone is Irish on St. Patricks's day these way to cute shamrock pins. Go check them out, they are both priced well.

You look great in your glasses Allie♥♥

Allie with her new glasses, and cool t-shirt Joanna made for her. We all have one now made by her, they are all different. she is very talented. And check out those very cool fingerless gloves.... Wowza. you can have a pair to, just go to my etsy shop http://www.yarnfreak.etsy.coms/ I will be listing a few differernt colors soon. This is my own pattern. I love mine and wear them all the time.

These are a few of her friends who also made the honor roll, Kerry and Samantha. They have been friends since pre-school Great going girls!!!

Allie and her honor roll certificate
Victoria is home sick from school again today, I had to go get her in the morning at school on Tuesday. Needless to say we are going to the Dr.'s. the earliest appointment was at 3:15, his office did not open till 9am, what a life.. She is obsessed with watching Green Acres the first season today. I'm listening while typing, it is so stupid it's funny. What ever happened to great shows like that?
Some news It's old news now because I have not had a minute to do anything and when I did finally have that 1 minute the girls were hogging the computer.....
Allie made the Principle's list for the 3rd marking period. That's the high honor roll 3 time in a row... You go girl.
